What is SCA?
Specialty Coffee Association cupping score
SCA scores coffee on a 0–100 scale by smell, taste, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance and uniformity. Anything over 80 is considered specialty. Our four coffees score 82 to 85 — well inside the specialty range.

1789 — 1956
Javier Pereira lived 167 years.
Born in Tuchín on Colombia's Caribbean coast, he attributed his longevity to a simple ritual: never worry, and drink a good cup of coffee every day. Colombia issued two postage stamps in his honor. We carry that ritual forward, one cup at a time.

Our promise
$2 of every $10 you spend funds tropical agricultural research.
We work with smallholder farms in the Caribbean coast and reinvest profits into food-security research — because the coffee that gave Javier 167 years should outlive us all.
